Who Is a Candidate for Physician-Supervised Weight Loss Injections?

Candidates for physician-supervised weight management injections generally meet one of the following criteria:

  • A body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher
  • A BMI of 27 or greater with at least one weight-related health condition (e.g., type 2 diabetes or high cholesterol)

It’s important to note that not all patients are candidates for these treatments. Certain conditions – including pancreatitis and gallbladder disease – may make patients unsuitable. The use of any medication as part of your weight management plan is considered only after a full medical evaluation.

How Are Physician-Supervised Weight Loss Injections Administered?

As part of our clinically guided weight management programs, these medications are generally administered once per week via a subcutaneous injection (just under the skin). Before beginning treatment, we will ensure you are comfortable with the injection process and that you fully understand how to store, handle, and administer the medication safely.
